Comment from Atholl Estates:
It was an absolute pleasure to host Mammoth Screen for 2 weeks in June 2017 for Victoria Series 2 episode 7. It is a wonderful way to document one of the many stays that Queen Victoria had at Blair Castle. It was fascinating to see stories brought to life throughout the estate and the use of our wonderful diverse and vast scenery will play such a lead role in the series.
We will be launching a ‘Victoria’ exhibition in Spring 2018 where we look forward to putting a lot of our treasures of Queen Victoria’s on display in a more concentrated area. We also have a few more surprises planned along the way!
Blair Castle has been the home of the Atholl family for over seven centuries. The castle has had a diverse history, witnessing both turbulent and peaceful times, enlarged and adapted over 700 years to suit the needs of the family and style of the day. Home to politicians, soldiers, agriculturalists and entrepreneurs, the family history is brought to life against a backdrop of fine 18th century interiors and Scottish baronial architecture, in 30 rooms.
